Department
of Social Services
The
Department of Social Services consists of the Director, three
full-time social workers, one full-time discharge planner and
two full-time substance abuse counselors. The Social Service
staff provides a variety of services to the residents of Broadway
House including; psycho-social assessment, family intervention,
substance abuse counseling, individual and group counseling
and support, entitlement assistance (social security, Medicaid,
etc.), financial assistance, behavior management, staff education
regarding resident needs and rights, assistance with obtaining
clothing and shoes, assistance with end-of-life decision making,
future planning, discharge planning, voter registration, substance
abuse services and any other non-medical need a resident has.
The primary goal of the social service team is to advocate for
the residents and their rights. The social workers serve as
mediators between the residents and staff, their families, government
agencies and other service providers. Social workers speak for
residents who cannot or will not speak for themselves. We are
proud to provide these services to the residents of Broadway
House and seek to contribute to an atmosphere that promotes
personal dignity and growth.
