NJANPHA
Presents Professional of the Year Award to Jeanine M. Reilly,
Executive Director Broadway House for Continuing Care, Newark
The New Jersey Association of Non-Profit Homes for
the Aging (NJANPHA) is pleased to recognize Jeanine M. Reilly, RNC,
LNHA, Executive Director of Broadway House for Continuing Care,
as the recipient of NJANPHA’s 2004 Professional of the Year
Award on behalf of her commitment and care of the elderly and the
infirm.
Jeanine has devoted her professional career to expert
care in the nursing home setting as a certified Gerontological Nurse,
a Nursing Educator, Director of Health Maintenance and Monitoring,
and Administrator.
Over the past three years she has transformed New
Jersey’s only HIV/AIDS specialized nursing care facility into
a model of effective and compassionate care for one of healthcare’s
most challenging populations. She spearheaded an aggressive professionalization,
service expansion, and employee support program to bring staff competencies
to state-of-the-art in HIV/AIDS care and treatments with patient-centered
care as its top goal.
She developed the 2004 Long Term Care Lecture series,
half-day training sessions for nursing home staff that focused on
competencies, protocols and other innovations developed at Broadway
House. According to Caroline Jacobus, Director of Community Outreach
at Broadway House, “Jeanine is a compassionate and skilled
caregiver whose respect for each colleague and patients is matched
by her drive to support their efforts to reach their full potential.”
NJANPHA’s Professional of the Year Award was
created in 1999 to recognize an individual in a managerial, supervisory
or leadership position who through their actions has inspired and
motivated staff, volunteers, residents and others. In recognition
